Why MVC here
ASP.NET MVC hosting for classic and Core apps
ASP.NET MVC comes in two generations, and many teams run both: new projects on ASP.NET Core MVC and established applications on ASP.NET MVC 5. Our MVC hosting runs on Windows Server and IIS, so both generations are supported on one platform.
ASP.NET Core MVC on the latest .NET
Controllers, views, tag helpers and Razor Pages run on every supported runtime, from .NET 8 LTS to .NET 10 and .NET 11. You can add a Web API or Blazor components to the same project.
Classic ASP.NET MVC 5 on .NET Framework
MVC 5 applications built on .NET Framework 4.x need Windows and IIS — exactly what our Windows hosting provides. Publish your existing project without rewriting it and migrate to ASP.NET Core only when it makes sense.
Razor, Entity Framework and SQL Server
Most MVC applications are data-driven. Use Entity Framework or Entity Framework Core against an MSSQL 2025 database and inspect your data from SQL Server Management Studio.
Deploy an MVC app from Visual Studio
Download the publish profile from the Control Panel and publish with Web Deploy straight from Visual Studio, or connect your repository with GitHub deploy and we build ASP.NET Core projects with dotnet publish for you. Free HTTPS via Let’s Encrypt secures your site from the first deployment.
Runtime settings for MVC 5 and ASP.NET Core MVC
On the Scripting page pick .NET Framework 4.x for a classic MVC 5 application or .NET Core for ASP.NET Core MVC. The Integrated pipeline is recommended; the Classic pipeline exists for legacy applications. Saving a change recycles the application pool and the site is back within seconds.
Troubleshooting an MVC application
The event logs for IIS, WAS and ASP.NET are kept for 7 days, and for ASP.NET Core you can capture the standard output with the ASP.NET Core debug log. Both are in the Control Panel, next to the resource charts of your website.
